About Myself

This page has been gradually diminishing in size as everything moves to Facebook. Here's a little about me though. I am your typical American hybrid, half Mexican-American and half Norwegian-American with a name from India. I was born in Los Angeles and moved to Minnesota when I was a few years old. A few years later we were back in CA where I spent most of my childhood in Mendocino, a small coastal town of about 1000 people north in Northern California. A beautiful place that everyone should visit. This was followed by 4 years in Orange County, 3 years studying math at Caltech, and then too many years working on a PhD at Yale. After receiving the PhD in 2002 I spent 3 years as a postdoc at Georgia Tech, and subsequently in September 2005 I began a position as an Assistant Professor in the UMass Lowell Math Department. Most recently I spent the Spring/Summer 2010 term on sabbatical at the Tokyo Institute of Technology.
