As you've probably figured out by now I spent my year in Japan studying
Japanese at the Osaka YWCA Language School. The school is nice and new,
but the tall central section is actually a hotel.
We took a trip once each semester to somewhere near Osaka. Examples of
places we went include the Mino Waterfall (at left) and Osaka Castle.
Also once each term we'd take an overnight trip somewhere farther away. These
places include Lake Biwa, Okayama Prefecture, and Awaji Island (at right).
When we weren't in school there were always plenty of things that could be
done. One of the most popular forms of group entertainment in Japan is of
course Karaoke.
