My 1996 Summer Vacation in Germany

In the summer of 1996 I finally ventured off the North American continent for the first time, to Europe. I spent June and July studying German at the Goethe Institute in Prien, a small town in Southeastern Bavaria. Although the location was rather isolated (but only a 1 hour train ride to Salzburg or Munich) I still had a great experience, and even managed to learn enough to pass my Mathematics language exam for German. Then I spent a few weeks travelling to Paris, Prague, Vienna, Venice, Rome, Pompeii, Florence, Pisa, and two other less known towns : San Gimignano and Sienna. Overall it was a wonderful experience, and I can't imagine anything I would have preferred to do with my summer.
See pictures from my trip to see them all, or here to view them one at a time.
